Walnut (Juglans regia)

Walnut leaves and fruits have long been widely used in folk and scientific medicine.

Walnut leaf tea is used for diabetes, its infusion – for avitaminosis treatment. The leaves are recommended for dysbacteriosis, as well as to improve venous circulation and lymph movement. Internally, the infusion of walnut leaf is used for atherosclerosis, diarrhea, gastroenteritis.

Decoction or infusion of the leaves for rinsing is administered for sore throat and gum disease.

Decoction and infusion of the leaves, unripe fruits are recommended as an astringent for diarrhea, bleeding. The tincture of the leaves has astringent, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effects.

The leaf and fruit extracts are recommended as stimulants of nonspecific resistance of the organism.

The walnut leaves are included into the useful herbal bath tea for both internal consumption and flavoring of the bath and phytobarrels “Чоловіча сила / Male Strength” (125 g in a linen bag and wooden tube), produced by APC «Antea».

The following activities were considered to justify the inclusion of walnut leaves in herbal teas: wound-healing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory («Потенціал» / «Potential»); anthelmintic, restorative, anti-inflammatory, astringent, antioxidant, hypoglycemic, antifungal, and the ability to stimulate functions of gastric glands, regulate metabolism, promote wound healing («Очисний-АНТЕА» / “Cleanse-ANTEA”), hypoglycemic and protective action in preventing possible complications of type 2 diabetes («ДіабетСтоп» / «DiabetesStop»).
